A Relaxed, Waterfront Wedding at the Miromar Lakes Beach and Country Club in Fort Meyers, Florida

Heather McLeod (34 and a business owner) and Jason Fry (40 and a business owner) met on a blind date that was set up by their mutual friend. “Since we both have been married before we didn't feel the need to rush things or put a label on our relationship,” says Heather. “We already considered ourselves engaged, but on Mother's Day 2012 Jason made it even more special by writing on our bathroom mirror ‘Will you marry me on 3-15-14?’ He chose our wedding date and that made it that so much more special.” For their wedding, Heather and Jason decided to host the affair at Miromar Lakes Beach and Country Club in Fort Meyers, FL. They exchanged vows in a waterfront ceremony on the property’s quaint, private beach, followed by an elegant indoor reception in the clubhouse. Inspired by the water, Heather and Jason chose a palette of Caribbean-esque colors, including bright shades of blue and pink. “Our venue location had plenty of character built right in, so we didn’t have to add much in the way of d?cor,” says Heather. Wanting to keep things feeling fun and relaxed for their guests, they provided a sitter for their friends or family members that had brought young children and surprised everyone with an ice cream bar and karaoke during the reception.
