A Relaxed Summer Wedding with Elegant Appeal at the Wellers Carriage House in Saline, Michigan

Kristine Hintz (26 and a health-care administrator) and Phil Bradley (25 and a financial analyst) pulled off a vintage garden affair by incorporating pink, green and navy throughout their rustic venue.

“I wanted everything to feel comfortable and laid-back,” Kristine says of decorating the historical space. Mason jars served as vessels for centerpieces that included arrangements of blooms sourced by the bride herself. “My planner made the bouquets from roses, greenery and Queen Anne’s lace that I found on my own,” she says.

A close friend of the bride created four separate cakes for the couple in flavors that included vanilla, confetti, chocolate, lemon and strawberry. For a personal touch, Kristine used glass plates she found at a local thrift store as the cake stands.

As a unique way to honor the bride’s late mother, Kristine’s brother carried an arrangement of lilies down the aisle during the ceremony. “She loved stargazer lilies, and they’re very special to my family now,” Kristine says. A pendant bearing her mom’s photo was also tied around the bridal bouquet.
