A Regal, Phantom of the Opera-Inspired Wedding at Rosehill Wedding Chapel in Johnson City, Tennessee
After months of hearing how perfect they would be together, Brittany Kyte (24 and a treasury analyst) finally met Jarrett Whitson (29 and a pharmacist) during a group date with mutual friends. The pair become inseparable after just their second date and on a snowy January day, Jareet made it clear that they would be seeing each other regardless of the weather. "I was confused as to why he was so adamant that we needed to see each other since the driving conditions were very poor but he picked me up and took me on a scavenger hunt," says Brittany. "We ended up at his house, with candles and a trail of rose petal's leading to a heart-shaped box with my engagement ring. It turns out he had the silver box engraved with the date which is why he didn't let the snow stop him!" Less than a year later, the couple celebrated their intimate nuptials at Rosehill Wedding Chapel in Johnson City, Tennessee. Drawing from their fall wedding date and shared love of The Phantom of the Opera, the couple worked with a regal color palette of scarlet, black and gold. "I didn't want a completely themed wedding but did add certain touches that were definitely Phantom-inspired," says Brittany. "Jarrett took me to see the show in London during our Honeymoon, so it was the perfect inspiration!"A rose with a black ribbon was placed on every female’s plate at the reception, which is a recurring symbol throughout the movie version. Vintage sheets of music were also rolled into cones and filled with rose petals for guests to toss during the couple's departure. "I wanted there to be red roses everywhere you looked throughout our wedding," says Brittany. I also incorporated other red flowers and greenery to bring it all together."
