A Red, White and Blue Wedding at Private Residence in Marietta, South Carolina
rn This celebration turned patriotism into a wedding theme! Anna Rowe (29 and in marketing) and Bradley Messick (32 and a young life area director) showed their love for America on the bride's parents' farm in Marietta, South Carolina, with a red, white and blue palette and vintage accents. On their wedding day, the former campground was filled with natural arrangements of roses, greenery and hydrangeas from Statice Floral Couture as Anna’s grandfather sang “Amazing Grace” in the background. Anna’s entrance was unexpected: She rode toward the ceremony space on her horse before walking down the aisle with her father. The bridesmaids preceded her in red dresses and brown English riding boots. Anna and Bradley met at a creative wedding arch, composed of 120 years of muslin and a wagon wheel hanging from a tree overhead. Once they exchanged vows, all said a prayer for dinner and moved to enjoy a tented reception. Each table was lined with vintage oil lamps, antique lace doilies from Anna and Bradley’s grandmothers and overflowing arrangements of roses and wildflowers. Their naked wedding cake then tied the look together with yellow cake and red velvet layers separated by blueberry filling. After a slice and a few dances to a live bluegrass band, Anna, Bradley and their guests ended the night with a bang—a six-minute fireworks show before driving through a sparkler exit in Anna’s grandfather’s red farm truck.
