A Red Multicultural Wedding at Creek Club at I’On in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Peipei Yu (26 and a dentist) and Nick DuBois (29 and a machinist) brought their different cultures together for a "Southern Chinese" wedding at l'On in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The color palette—red, black and gold—was based on Peipei’s grandmother’s wedding ring, which was a ruby with a gold band. Peipei wore it on her wedding day as her "something old" and "something borrowed." We absolutely love Peipei’s three outfit changes, all bought in China! For the ceremony she wore a white ball gown with stunning beading on the bodice for a little extra glamour, and for the first dance she wore a traditional red and gold Chinese gown. She completed the reception in a lighter white gown. Mandi Collers from Mandi Collers Photography and Wedding Planning Services helped bring the multicultural vision to life. Adding a little personal touch, the couple incorporated some DIY projects into their day. The best, though, were the three amazing wedding cakes made by Peipei’s mother. One was a chocolate naked cake adorned with fresh berries and two sugar peonies. There are so many details we love from this stunning wedding—see them all, beautifully captured by Hattie Coryell from Old South Weddings, below.
