A Red, Black and White Wedding at Royal Sonesta New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana
Between the multiple colors, themes and surprises, Tessa Hyman (25 and a chemical engineer) and Ryan Brown (28 and a financial analyst) made sure their wedding was personalized. It all started with the color scheme. They used her favorite red roses as inspiration and created a combination of black, white and red details at Royal Sonesta New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. The chic flower was everywhere from the red and white bridal party bouquets to the aisle decor and tall, white hydrangea centerpieces from Beth's Flowers. A rose even accented the tiered white wedding cake. The wedding party took care of their black hue with these sleek one-shoulder dresses and classic black tuxedos—and red rose accents, of course. But there was more than one theme at play. Since Tessa’s favored mathematical symbol is pi and they were married on Pi Day (March 14), Tessa and Ryan knew they had to acknowledge the holiday in their celebration. Red and black pi-symbol koozies and mini-pie wedding favors were given to every guest. We love what happened next! Before their friends and family took them home, the reception had a few turns even Tessa and Ryan didn’t expect. The bridesmaids did a dance to “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift, which was choreographed by Tessa’s former college professor. Ryan serenaded her with “Getting You Home” by Chris Young. Then they brought out masks for a modern masquerade ball, complete with cranked-up music. Of course, that’s not all. See all our favorite details, shot by Arte De Vie, below.
