With a goal of celebrating “love in every color,” Brady Everett (32 and a floral designer) and Brian Calabro (34 and a veterinarian) drew inspiration from the rainbow to create “less of a color palette and more of a color wheel, using the entire spectrum of colors; focusing on the subtle gradations and the beauty in the way all of the colors connect,” the couple says. From technicolor bouquets, designed by Brady (there were over 400 David Austin roses threaded throughout!), to 2,000 yards of colorful ribbon in the reception space, the entire celebration was absolutely teeming with color.
“Using every color opened up the door to use so many different and unique blooms. For me it was a dream come true, really the best of everything,” recalls Brady of designing the wedding’s décor. Brady added yellow roses to his bouquet as a nod to his mother’s nuptials 40 years prior. As for Brian’s boutonniere (a surprise from Brady!), a honey bee charm served as a reminder of home.
“We were able to share our vows outside overlooking the beautiful Tuttle Creek Lake. I can not imagine our wedding having been anywhere else,” Brady says. The venue’s 40-foot ceilings presented a unique décor challenge. The couple chose to suspend ribbon, string lights and greenery from the ceiling. Even the couple’s music choices were packed with color. “Rainbowland” by Dolly Parton, “True Colors” as sung by Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” all had a place in the ceremony.
