A Quirky Art and Book Themed DIY Wedding at Pearl at the Webb in Buffalo, New York
Rachel Del Monte (27 and a cosmetologist) and Tom Rizzo (27) grew up together, their parents being close friends. While they would see each other occasionally at family functions, they never really got to know one another until years later (despite their families trying to fix them up) when they bumped into each other one night when they were out with their friends. The two hit it off and were inseparable after their first date. While on their first vacation together in Carlsbad, CA three years later, Tom proposed. The couple planned a fun, funky affair at Pearl at the Webb in Buffalo, NY. Wanting the day to feel distinctly "Rachel and Tom," the couple decided to DIY as many details as possible. Rachel, an artists and book enthusiast, got busy creating everything from miniature hand-painted canvases and handmade water color bookmarks for guests to take home as favors to centerpieces made from her personal collection of books and a seating chart made from canvas and paint samples. A color palette of white, blue and purple felt festive and fresh. And a photo booth, complete with silly props, was set up during the reception and the couple put out games for guests to play while they rested their dancing feet.
