A Purple Classic Wedding With a Rustic Twist at Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio
Wood detail combined with purple hues decorated the interior space of Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio, a former Catholic military boys' school built in 1927. “As teachers, we appreciated the old-school, vintage lockers and classroom chalkboards,” Amanda Randolph (24 and a fourth-grade teacher) says of her marriage to Scott Sanderson (24 and a high school teacher). The ceremony took place outside at the intimate grotto on the property, where the aisle was lined with fuchsia petals leading to the iron archway decorated in greenery and purple flowers, captured on camera by Kent & Stephanie Photography. Beautiful Blooms by Jen arranged a beautiful bridal bouquet that embodied the purple palette, made up of scabiosa, peonies and stock accented with globe thistles, eucalyptus and leaves. Groomsmen wore classic gray suits accented with black ties, while bridesmaids followed the wedding day palette with long dresses in a variety of purple shades. The reception took place inside the Ladyglen ballroom, where guests located their kraft paper and purple escort tags accented with a dangling bronze key, adding a touch of vintage to the decor. Centerpieces filled with roses, hydrangeas, stock, thistles and eucalyptus were arranged inside birch tree logs, which decorated purple-covered dining tables marked with gray and white number signs. Our favorite detail? The delicious white wedding cake filled with flavors of tiramisu, strawberries and cream and chocolate raspberry, wrapped with burlap and lace around each tier that was placed on top of wooden slabs.
