A Purple and Red Traditional Wedding at The Columbus Athenaeum in Columbus, Ohio

Angela He (28, a dietitian) and Paul He (28, a physician) met in college and were both members of the Chinese American Student Association. Paul was the president of the association and at first appeared to be intimating. Over several activities and events outside of the group, Angela discovered this was not the case. Angela and Paul began to date, and after they both moved to Florida together when Paul decided to pursue medical school, they became engaged. The wedding was held at Columbus Athenaeum not only because they were able to have the ceremony and reception in one place, but also they loved the look of the stage that ended up being the dance floor. The first time Angela and Paul connected was when they danced at a club, so this element was extremely symbolic to their relationship. An arrangement of orchids and calla lilies made up the classic, elegant bouquet the bride carried down the aisle for the occasion.  A purple, white and black color palette decorated everything, from the linens to the rose petals at the ceremony and the wedding stationary. At the end of the night, guests took home chocolate dipped fortune cookies with a thank you message for attending Angela and Paul’s special celebration.
