A Purple and Pink Wedding at Venice Yacht Club in Venice, Florida

From their mixed fuchsia and pink centerpieces to the DIY three-tier wedding cake, Natalie Baker (25 and a civil engineer) and Steve Logan’s (30 and a civil engineer) wedding was filled with personal, bright details. Steven Miller Photography captured every moment of the day, which started in Maxine Barritt Park with a sweet Quaker and Hawaiian-inspired ceremony, moved to an indoor reception at Venice Yacht Club and ended with a sparkler exit. Beneva Flowers helped bring a bright touch to Natalie and Steve’s wedding with a few eye-catching details. Coral and white flower petals encircled the couple’s gazebo ceremony as each bridesmaid carried a matching bouquet of coral roses, white hydrangeas and fuchsia orchids. The couple even exchanged white orchid leis during the ceremony to reflect Natalie’s heritage; they were her brightest accessory. “I wanted to look more Hawaiian on my wedding day so I talked with my florist and they made me a purple orchid flower crown,” Natalie says. Bright orchids also covered the couple’s wedding cake. Baked by Natalie’s mother, the three-tier white confection had a purple ribbon decorating the base of each layer. Fuchsia orchids covered the dessert and accented their sweet cake topper of a couple embracing. Another standout detail, and treat, was the couple’s wedding favor. Natalie and Steve added to their sweet day by giving their 70 friends and family members a DIY wedding favor: a jar of orange blossom, raw honey from a local beekeeper. Natalie shares a tip for future couples: “Enjoy your special day, soak up every minute and don't sweat the small stuff.”
