A Purple and Ivory Wedding at 28 Event Space in Kansas City, Missouri
Pulling off a Christmastime wedding is no easy fete, but with a bold, modern purple, burgundy and ivory color palette, Sarah Brecheisen (26 and a middle school teacher) and Nate Brecheisen (31 and a construction manager) totally nailed it. We love the stunning florals from Erica Smail at the Flower Girl, who wasn’t afraid to mix springtime tulips with unusual scabiosas for a textured look. “The ivory, eggplant and red-wine-colored flowers made the day feel very cozy and elegant at the same time,” Sarah says. Abby Sander from A Wedding Come True worked with Sarah and Nate to ensure they got hitched without a hitch. “We loved having a wedding planner and taking our time,” Sarah says. “It was nice to have plenty of time to enjoy being engaged and make decisions slowly since we had a long engagement.” The day started in a traditional Christian ceremony at Christ Community Church in Kansas City (a few blocks from where they had their first date), and ended in an upbeat singalong at 28 Event Space. The absolute best part? The dueling pianos entertainment. “It was such a hit and guests really enjoyed the interaction,” Sarah says. “It was just like being at a piano bar. We wanted guests to feel relaxed and have the best time. They got to sing along with the dueling pianos and were involved throughout the entire reception.” See all our favorite details, beautifully captured by Jessica Roark from epagaFOTO, below.
