A Pretty Country Wedding at Lederhos Farm in Bakersfield, California
Megan Lederhos (24 and an entrepreneur) and Armando Morales (41 and a technical engineer) bonded over their love of country dancing, so it was a no-brainer that their wedding would be a night of open-air two-stepping under string lights at Megan's family's almond farm. Their wedding style was a personal take on country chic, and nearly everything was DIY. Armando and Megan built the almond wooden wedding arch they were married under, and they also made the reception tables that were covered in burlap tablecloths and lace runners and the dance floor. For the stage, they used a flat trailer, and they attached it to the back of Megan's dad's old Oliver tractor where the band was playing. As wedding favors, they gave their guests almonds from the farm that they salted themselves. Jars of these almonds were showcased on a DIY country "General Store" display that doubled as a backdrop for photos. Megan even made their own invitations. Megan and Armando's wedding party looked the part, with the bridesmaids in colorful sundresses and cowboy boots and Armando and his groomsmen in light-colored button-up shirts and jeans. And can we talk about Megan's amazing convertible wedding dress? Janet Domino created a custom lace gown with a detachable skirt, so Megan could look traditionally elegant at her ceremony and still have a fun, flowy dress for dancing at the reception. There were so many amazing details at Megan and Armando's wedding, and Roots Photography was there to capture them all.
