The Bride Lindsay Failing, 26, a graduate student The Groom Jonathan Sinex, 31, also a graduate student The Date August 13 Because they chose a summer date, Lindsay and Jonathan started planning a tropical theme with palm fronds and bold flowers and pops of bright colors like pink, purple, orange and red. But they also wanted to mix in their personal style with traditional elements like calligraphy, classic American formalwear and monogrammed details. The end result? A preppy exotic paradise.

Peep-toe heels complemented Lindsay's elegant bridal look.

Although many of their wedding details skewed tropical, Lindsay and Jonathan went with totally classic attire: a simple A-line gown on her and a navy blazer on him.
In keeping with the style of her traditional wedding dress, Lindsay's bouquet was a timeless mix of white spray roses, peonies, freesias, and ranunculus.
At their hotels, each guest received a welcome bag. Included was an illustrated, custom map of Palm Beach.
Hypericum berries matched the guys' playful patterned green ties (they had alligators and crabs on them).
Wicker chargers and exotic floral centerpieces brought in the tropical theme, while silver framed table numbers reinforced the traditional side of the couple's style.
Lindsay had her bouquet wrapped in a handkerchief embroidered with the couple's monogram and wedding date.
Refreshing watermelon mojitos, one of the two signature drinks, were served with monogrammed stirrers.
Greener than Lindsay's bouquet, the bridesmaids' blooms included roses, berries, and hydrangeas.
Lindsay knew that simple dresses would flatter all nine of her bridesmaids, so she chose two pale-pink chiffon styles: one with straps and one without.
The groomsmen's outfits--white dress pants and pocket squares with navy blazers really drove home the preppy, classic look.
Small cylinder vases filled with a single orchid bloom were scattered on the escort card table along with votive candles.
Guests left notes of congratulations for Lindsay and Jonathan on vintage-looking Pal Beach postcards.
