A Preppy Brunch Wedding at Firefly Gardens in Midlothian, Texas
For Tawni Reynolds (24 and an interior designer) and Matthew Brown (27 and a business executive), a “light, bright and colorful” affair was essential. “We wanted everything to encompass a feeling of joy and celebration,” Tawni says. The pair filled their brunch wedding with breathtaking florals and nods to their shared love of travel. Inside the airy, whitewashed venue, custom wood signs bearing the couple’s favorite bible verses flanked the aisle. A botanical partition wall of garlands and tulle concealed Tawni before her grand entrance. The bride added something old to her look with the help of a sentimental heirloom wrapped around her bouquet. “My great-grandmother left each of us grandchildren a handkerchief for our wedding that she made herself,” Tawni says. At the reception, mini quiche tarts, chicken and waffles and assorted biscuits and jams filled brunch, along with classic scones, pastries and gourmet coffee. Guests sipped champagne cocktails from a mimosa bar marked by a balloon arch and laser-cut sign. A personalized globe guestbook captured the couple’s sense of wanderlust. As the celebration came to a close, the couple danced to “Crash Into Me” by Dave Matthews Band, a song they listened to on repeat during their first trip together.
