A Preppy, Whimsical Wedding at The Greenbriar Inn in Boulder, Colorado
As residents of New York, Molly Dulin and Blake Daniel planned a colorful, preppy destination wedding in Colorado (where the bride grew up). They incorporated elements inspired by the East Coast, and they relied heavily on colorful flowers in shades of red, orange and pink. The invitation suite had custom watercolor artwork and the couple's monogrammed crest, which showed up on the bar, glasses and other elements throughout the day. "The venue was a historic Boulder restaurant boasting a surrounding 20 acres with ponds, woodlands, mountain views and a thriving garden," Molly says. "Having grown up looking at the mountains every day, it was very important that our ceremony had a great view." They highlighted the picturesque area with a wedding arch of peonies, roses, snapdragons and other locally grown flowers. The reception took place inside a tent decorated with romantic flower centerpieces and hanging string lights. "We had one long table for the bridal party and then round tables for all of the guests, which helped to foster conversation and a more intimate vibe," Molly says. Chinoiserie-style vases held colorful flowers, and they were paired with taper candles in dark navy. The wedding cake, which was inspired by the Chinoiserie vases, was hand-painted with stripes and a blue floral design. "After dinner and cutting our beautiful cake, we made our way into the restaurant for a full night of dancing," Molly says. "Our family and friends know how to have a good time and love to dance, so the ability to dance indoors was key so we could keep the party going late." Molly stunned in a mermaid dress with two large bows on the back, and she accessorized with a circle veil for the ceremony. Blake wore a navy suit, white shirt, pink tie and dark brown shoes, which tied into their preppy-style celebration.
