A Preppy and Nautical Wedding at Harbour Club in Charleston, South Carolina
Even though Aimee Giesler (24 and a nurse) and Ryan Newlin (25 and in intermodal logistics) went to the same high school, they still didn't know each other well by the time they graduated. They happened to reconnect over a coincidental trip to South Carolina for a football game and immediately started spending time together. Ryan proposed to Aimee at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and the pair excitedly planned their spring nuptials at the Harbour Club in Charleston, South Carolina. After a rooftop terrace, guests were invited to celebrate with a seated ballroom dinner followed by followed by dancing back on the roof overlooking the city skyline. From the bridesmaids’ pink Lilly Pulitzer dresses to the groom's rope knot boutonniere, the couple carried a preppy nautical theme throughout their navy, yellow and blush soiree. Hydrangea arrangements and an anchor motif enhanced the DIY decor and burlap with lace table runners added a laid-back feel. "Our preppy, nautical vibe was first inspired from Charleston being a seaside," says Aimee. "Since all of our guests travelled, we gave them sand buckets filled with Charleston goodies to get a feel of the city!"
