A Playful, Rustic Chic Wedding at 26 Bridge in Brooklyn, New York
Bikes, beer and baseball-inspired details dressed up Brooklyn’s 26 Bridge venue for a look Karen Nelson (28 and a structural engineer) and Will Grossett (30 and an environmental engineer) call “rustic in the city.”
“It was different from your typical banquet hall,” Karen says of the brick-lined space, which came alive with marquee centerpieces and textured burlap linens. Together, Karen and Will worked with a month-of coordinator to create a wedding that truly reflected their relationship. “I made escort cards that resembled baseball tickets, and we numbered our tables by ‘row’ and ‘seat’ in true stadium style,” Karen says of the playful nod to the day they met.
Will’s patterned pink tie played up the pastel blooms in Karen’s bouquet.
The signature sips were given custom monikers to honor the people and places most important to the pair. “Will’s family is from Panama, so we served a Panama Coke with rum, and the Jack and Margaret was named for my grandparents,” Karen says of the classic vodka and cranberry cocktail.
Karen and Will gifted guests with bicycle-shaped bottle openers as favors.
The pair chose Meghan Trainor’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” for their first dance song.
