There was no shortage of eye-catching accents at Kellene Hilliard (29 and an art teacher) and William Damian’s (26 and a marketing and sales professional) whimsical wedding—from hand-dyed napkins and vintage china to mid-century modern lounge vignettes and painted paper goods. “I’m an artist, so I had a very specific vision,” Kellene says. “That meant a lot of late-night DIY projects, but I loved every moment.” Vibrant bridesmaid dresses reflected the venue’s interior, where Kellene and William tied the knot in front of a backdrop crafted from hundreds of folded paper cranes. “We actually booked the venue before we got engaged because we loved it so much,” Kellene says. The very same friend who introduced the pair officiated their ceremony. Unconventional ceremony readings included lyrics by The Beatles and an excerpt from Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms. Ceramic fox cake toppers served as a nod to the couple’s love of Wes Anderson films.
