A Playful Backyard Wedding at a Family Farm in Buena Vista, Colorado
Emily Steiner (27 and a PhD student) and Sam Bacon (32 and an attorney) designed their farm wedding as a reflection of their fun-loving, outdoorsy personalities.
The bride’s parents’ farm, which sits on the Arkansas River with sweeping views of the Collegiate Peaks, served as an ideal backdrop for Emily and Sam’s easygoing nuptials. “We couldn’t think of a more intimate spot to get married,” Emily says. The couple even incorporated the family’s three alpacas into the festivities.
A fly fisherman, Sam opted for a Western-style suit, cowboy boots, an orange-and-blue-striped tie, and a belt buckle with jumping trout on it. Emily wore a simple yet elegant silk gown.
The alpacas donned bow ties, including Inca, who served as the ring bearer during the ceremony.
Sam’s former boss, Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court Nancy Rice, officiated.
