A Playful and Classy Wedding at the Achnagairn House in Inverness, Scotland
Andrew Tait (34 and an actor) and Fiona Gunn (31 and a doctor) had their first date in a romantic Scottish Highland cottage near the Isle of Skye. After such a promising start, things moved quickly for the couple. A couple of years into their relationship, Andrew and Fiona took a month off to travel around the United States. On the second to last day of their journey, Andrew popped the question on a rowing boat in Central Park with a ring he personally designed for Fiona. They wanted to get married in the Scottish Highlands because that's where they grew up. Andrew and Fiona fell in love with Achnagairn House in Inverness, Scotland. "It has a beautiful grand ballroom and stunning gardens surrounded by towering, ancient woodland," says Fiona. They booked the venue for four days to host their guests for the traditional Scottish wedding. The bride wore an Andrew Parvin ivory lace dress with lace cap sleeves and a long, sheer veil. The bridesmaids wore long gray dresses in the styles and shades of their choosing. The groom and the groomsmen wore Scottish kilts. The theme of the wedding was cinema, which was reflected in their stationary that included a "Cast" list instead of a program. The tables in the reception hall were marked with clapperboards that had the names of the couple's favorite movies along with quotes from those movies. Floral arrangements included pink peonies, pink and ivory roses and Scottish wildflowers. As favors, the couples gave miniature, personalized bottles of Scottish malt whiskey and glass jars filled with personalized candy. Andrew and Fiona's beautiful wedding was both true to their Scottish roots and reflective of their playful personalities.
