A Plant-Filled Fall Wedding at PAIKKA in St. Paul, Minnesota

Pampas grass lined the aisle, and a flower installation hung overhead at Laine and Devan plant-filled party. The fall fete was as Laine describes, “playful, classic and modern.” From the copper arch Laine’s dad constructed for the ceremony to the family-style dinner, which included a mac and cheese bar with crumbled bacon and potato chip toppings, the level of detail was fitting for a woman who’s no stranger to the wedding industry. “As a planner, it made the experience much more enjoyable,” Laine says. “I knew the design and vendors I wanted right off the bat.” Laine carried an in-season bouquet of dahlias, peonies and roses. With Palm being her middle name, the tropical leaf was a natural fit for centerpieces. “We wanted the reception to have the same feeling that we try to create when we have friends and family over,” Laine says. “The space felt intimate and cozy.” Guests enjoyed tarts, macarons, sugar cookies, chocolate-dipped Oreos and chocolate cake for dessert.
