A Pink Southern-Inspired Wedding at Harborside East in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Laura Johnson (25 and a registered nurse) and Tony Martin (25 and a civil engineer) wanted to have a very Southern-looking wedding, starting with blue seersucker blazers for the groomsmen. They loved that the chic blazer, navy pants and bow ties, all from JoS. A. Bank, added a little vintage flair to the feel of the wedding. Wanting to maintain the theme throughout the details, they chose Harborside East in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, for their venue because of its wooden accents, large windows and painted art. As if that weren't enough, they loved that the outside patio overlooked the Cooper River Bridge and was surrounded by lush lawns. Wedding planner Heather Stokes from Confetti of Charleston helped bring the details to life, and Alex Thornton Photography beautifully captured all the stunning aspects of the day. One of our favorite parts was Laura’s gorgeously simple A-line wedding dress from Jean's Bridal Charleston. “For my wedding dress, I had sent my mom pictures of the dress about five years earlier,” Laura says. “When I arrived at the bridal shop in Mount Pleasant, I showed the sales associate the picture, and she had a dress almost exactly like the one in the picture in my size. My mom cried because of how perfect it all was, and that was the dress I chose.” A tip from the bride: “For future couples, we would just tell them to not sweat the small stuff,” she says. “Things are going to go wrong from the time you get engaged until the wedding, but the end result will still be amazing.”
