Michelle Aquino (29 and a physician) and Nicholas Sells's (32 and a physician) sweet garden elopement was filled with stunning pink details and subtle vintage charm - from the pink floral accent on a silver pedestal vase to Nick's madras suspenders and bow tie. Heirloom Collective was there to capture every detail as the couple celebrated with an intimate ceremony at The Beauregard-Keyes House, took their first dance to live music and had a traditional Second Line exit. “We did not have a reception although we did have a first dance, cake cutting and champagne toast,” says Michelle. “Our wedding was very unique in the sense that we had all the elements of a full wedding, but it was just the two of us.” Poppy and Mint Floral Company and Mrs. Vintage were pivotal in creating the couple's decor. Both designed a bed of pink ombre flower petals to line the garden aisle and fitted the space with either hanging or set arrangements of pink garden roses, fuchsia peonies and pink roses in blue glass bulb vases. One classic detail was the couple's single-tier wedding cake. Baked by Pure Cake, the pink confection was nothing short of eye-catching. Pink roses and garden roses topped the cake as well as surrounded the layer in a bright hue. Michelle has a tip for the taking: “The best advice we can give other couples is to plan your wedding exactly the way you want and don't be swayed by what others expect. A lot of our friends and family were disappointed and couldn't understand why we didn't want a big wedding, but that was just not our style.”

Wanting to complement The Beauregard-Keyes House's vintage charm, the couple filled their wedding space with pink florals. Poppy and Mint Floral Company and Mrs. Vintage created a bed of pink ombré flower petals to line the aisle as well as hung blue glass jars filled with pink garden roses and peonies along the wedding arch.
Almost three years from when they first met, Nick surprised Michelle and proposed with a custom-made pink sapphire engagement ring that featured a diamond halo. It's eye-catching hue was also chosen as their wedding color. Michelle and Nick complemented their New Orleans venue with simple bulb vases filled with blush, fuchsia and pink florals.
Adding to The Beauregard-Keyes House's vintage charm, Michelle and Nick enlisted Poppy and Mint Floral Company as well as Mrs. Vintage to design simple yet eye-catching arrangements for their elopement. A display of pink peonies and garden roses nestled in a vintage-style silver pedestal vase accented the courtyard atop a grand trunk.
Etsy shop Gilded Shadows helped Michelle to complement the classic green shutters and exposed brick walls of The Beauregard-Keyes House with a notable vintage-style accent of her own - a birdcage veil. She wore an elegant updo and simple jewelry to accentuate the look.

"I wanted something vintage looking yet light and airy because our wedding was outdoors, in June and in Louisiana!" says Michelle. She chose an ivory wedding dress by Rosa Clara with ruche detailing, beading and a sweetheart neckline. She complemented the look with a birdcage veil, silver beaded hair accessory and simple jewelry.

Poppy and Mint Floral Company as well as Mrs. Vintage added a pop of color to the couple's natural garden ceremony space. A line of pink ombre flower petals filled the aisle as Michelle and Nick took their first kiss. Arrangements of single pink flowers in bulb vases also hung from their ceremony arch for a whimsical and vintage touch.
“We did not have a reception although we did have a first dance, cake cutting and champagne toast,” says Michelle. After Michelle and Nick said "I do" in a live-streamed ceremony, the couple complemented their color scheme and celebrated by popping a fuchsia bottle of champagne.
Pure Cake designed a fun and creative single-tier confection for Michelle and Nick. The wedding cake's pink frosting was highlighted with roses and ranunculus in shades of pink, blush and fuchsia. For a classic and vintage touch, the cake was placed atop a classic white ruffled server.

"We wanted that day to be extra special and just concentrate on each other," says Michelle. While Michelle and Nick were the only guests at their wedding, they found a way to include friends and family in the celebration. They sent each person a link and password to their website so all could watch their ceremony the next day online .
