A Personalized, Rustic-Chic Wedding at Hotel Sorrento in Seattle, Washington

To infuse their summer wedding in Seattle with a memorable touch, Rachel Drapeau and Mike Gough decided to create their own rituals and traditions. The ceremony was where the pair’s personalities truly shined. Rachel brought out her ukulele to serenade Mike, and the couple sipped tea to savor the moment in lieu of a more traditional unity ceremony. Custom vows were a must and one of Rachel and Mike’s favorite parts of the day. For the reception, the newlyweds fused rustic and modern elements to stunning effect. Miniature pine trees and a birch arch draped with peach carnations served as the backdrop for the sweetheart table, and gold geometric numbers brought an element of contemporary glamour. “We had lots of pink, blush and green hues for a soft, boho feel,” Rachel says. “It was exactly the kind of dreamy we were hoping for!” After dinner, Rachel and Mike treated guests to a mélange of French macarons and cupcakes before joining the DJ out on the dance floor.
