A Peacock-Inspired Wedding at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida

Lindsay Swift (32 and an attorney) and Kris Kolba’s (35 and a pilot) peacock-feather-inspired color palette brought out the Florida Aquarium’s bright hues with a whimsical twist. Tropical fish swam in the background, as the couple started their day with a simple indoor ceremony overlooking the tank. With such an eye-catching backdrop, little decor was needed. Instead, Lindsay, Kris and the wedding party stood out with pops of color. Apple Blossoms Floral Designs arranged a bouquet of purple and white calla lilies for Lindsay to wear with her classic white wedding dress. Her bridesmaids wore teal and plum dresses satin from David’s Bridal. The groomsmen also wore bright teal socks and pink boutonnieres. After the couple exchanged vows, their guests were encouraged to explore the exhibits and take in the underwater natural view. All returned for a reception filled with color, including blue uplighting. White fabric draped along the ceiling as the couple’s florist placed floating blue orchid centerpieces on each table. The desserts stood out in similar hues. A candy bar filled with blue raspberry rock candy and turquoise white-chocolate-covered Oreos was available for guests. The Cake Zone also baked a five-tier lemon and white almond confection with cascading green, blue and purple fondant flowers. Limelight Photography captured every bright moment of the day, below. Lindsay shares a tip: “There are likely to be hiccups throughout the day, but you can't allow it to distract you. Remember how amazing it will be to end the day married to your best friend.”
