A Pastel, Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Veen, Netherlands
The wedding of Jacobiene Kuijpers (26 and an art historian) and Arjan Klerk (25 and a flower exporter) is the stuff of storybooks. Their pastel, backyard wedding in Veen, Netherlands was whimsical and fun, and Bailey Roberts Photography beautifully captured all of its charming DIY details. Since Arjan is a flower exporter and Jacobiene's grandparents grow flowers in their backyard, there was no shortage of floral design at this airy and intimate celebration. Jacobiene carried a bouquet of purple chrysanthemums, peach, pink and white roses, lavender and other bright flowers. Arjan wore an equally colorful boutonniere with his striking, cobalt blue suit. Mason jars decorated with washi tape and filled with pink dahlias, pink roses and peach carnations adorned the blue and white canopied reception. The outdoor ceremony area was decorated with pastel banners, and guests sat on bales of hay while Jacobiene and Arjan said their vows. An Italian-inspired pizza dinner also took place outside on farmhouse style tables arranged with pastel chairs that Jacobiene and Arjan bought from local flea markets. "We wanted our wedding to be informal and relaxed," Jacobiene says. "The whole day was filled with family and friends who were all having fun, which made us very happy."
