Kelly and Kevin built their destination wedding style off of the bride’s favorite color -- purple. The groom wanted boutonnieres that were cool and classy. He chose green cymbidium orchards tied with ribbon and bamboo.
Kelly and Kevin took advantage of Savannah’s beautiful, historic sites. They exchanged vows in Monterey Square, facing the Pulaski Monument, as tourists stopped to watch.
Bruce Springsteen’s “Secret Garden” played during the couple’s first dance. “We are big Bruce fans and being from New Jersey, we thought it was a great choice,” says the bride.
Small bouquets of lavender roses, green cymbidium orchids, and purple stock hung from the chairs along the first three rows of the aisle.
The lace icing and sugar beads and pearls on the cake replicated the detailing in Kelly’s dress. Three delicate three sugar rosettes topped the confection. “We have those sugar roses in our freezer as a keepsake,” says Kelly.
Mansion Reception Site
Guests took home shimmery gold bags of two local favorites -- Savannah Bee Honey and River Street Sweets’ “world-famous” pralines.
The elegant ivory escort cards and the guest favors were displayed beneath a beautiful wish tree made of gold Manzanita branches, hydrangeas, orchids, and dangling crystals.
Structured arrangements of green hydrangeas, lavender roses, cymbidium orchids, calla lilies, and ferns hung from tall trumpet vases on the tabletops. An assortment of crystals and tea light candles were added to complement the opulence of the room.
