A New Year's Eve Wedding at Angus Barn Pavilion in Raleigh, North Carolina

Not every blind date ends badly, and Susan Comer, 30, an arts education specialist and Eric Fisher, 33, who works in the field of research and design, can attest to that. The couple met through Susan's co-worker who set them up on a blind date. The pair hit it off immediately, bonding over their love of music (both were trained as classical musicians) and good beer. From there, everything fell into place. Eric proposed on Christmas Eve, while he and Susan were visiting his parent's farm in Pennsylvania. "I am from North Carolina so it was my first true white Christmas ever," recalls Susan. "I was so excited about the snow that when Eric suggested we go outside to take a look, I didn’t think anything was amiss. When he tried to go down on one knee to propose I actually thought he was slipping and “caught” him holding him up. Luckily I figured it out, when I saw the ring box!"New Year's Eve has always been a special time for Susan and Eric, so a New Year's wedding seemed like an obvious choice. Angus Barn Pavilion was the venue chosen to host the occasion for its beautiful setting and its great mix of southern charm and country elegance that reflected Eric and Susan's backgrounds. They chose a color palette of plum and gold, which was incorporated into everything from the bridesmaid's dresses to the floral arrangements and boutonnieres. To highlight the holiday, they incorporated plenty of sparkle and warm, ambient light into the reception and ceremony décor to create a romantic feel. The ceremony aisles were lined with ivory rose petals and candles and hanging mason jar lanterns illuminated the room, creating the ultimate backdrop for the couple to say their "I do's."
