A Neutral, Elegant Wedding at Casa Elar in Ojai, California

Through classic hues and Tuscan-inspired architecture, Marla Weintraub (29 and a cofounder of an event studio) and Andrew Conti (29 and a marketing manager) brought their vision of an elegant wedding to life at Casa Elar in Ojai, California. "Our home has always had a neutral palette—since we share a general aversion to bright color—so our wedding coloration consisted of shades of gray, beige, taupe and gold accents," Marla says. These soft neutrals combined with dark wood and stone detail helped create the day's romantic atmosphere, which started at the lush ceremonial chuppah speckled with ivory blooms. Peonies and roses showered the day with elegant arrangements—from the bridal bouquet to the aisle decorations and dining table centerpieces. Guests enjoyed an Italian-inspired meal at their seats, set with gold-rimmed plates, crystal glassware and neutral linens, illuminated by the soft glow of tall white candles. Our favorite detail? The two-tier dessert that resembled a traditional wedding cake, but was filled with Oreo cookies and fudge swirl ice cream instead. "Andrew and I both bonded early over our love of ice cream cake, and they were childhood staples for both of us," Marla says.
