A Neutral Colored Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida

While Lindsay Elias (30, a buyer for Tom Ford) and Derek Bell (30, Plato’s Closet owner in Danbury, Connecticut) met in college at the University of Connecticut in before 2004, the couple did not begin to date until 2010 when Derek came to New York City for his sister’s birthday. Lindsay and Derek started a long distance relationship and were engaged within three years. “Derek got our families together and surprised me by proposing at a restaurant in Union Square,” says Lindsay. The next eight months were spent planning their wedding. A destination wedding in Florida was always the plan for this New York couple. “We did not know?exactly where in Florida, but we both grew up visiting the Gulf Coast with our families and Derek's parents currently live in Bonita Springs.” They ultimately selected the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa for their neutral toned outdoor ceremony and reception. Lindsay and Derek decorated their wedding in white hues with small colorful accents. The ceremony and reception candy station was accented with a tall arrangement of ivory and white hydrangea as well as peach roses and white lilies of the valley. Similar accents were used in the couple’s centerpieces, boutonnieres and bouquets. “The Hyatt Regency at Coconut Point was such a pretty setting in itself, I thought a neutral palette would be best to not take away from its natural beauty,” says Lindsay.
