A Neutral-Colored Rustic Wedding at Amelita Mirolo Barn in Upper Arlington, Ohio

Timbers dating to 1838 are displayed at the front entrance of Amelita Mirolo Barn in Upper Arlington, Ohio, representing the historic charm that once made up the rustic venue. “We didn’t want anything formal, we wanted to be real,” Kaity Warren (23 and in marketing communications) says of her marriage to David Eckl (22 and in marketing). “Amelita Mirolo Barn offered the casual style we were aiming for on our wedding day.” The invitations were printed on white stationery with gray text and a peach circular design that gave off a modern and rustic ambience and reflected the neutral palette, captured by Studio127 Photography. The outdoor ceremony took place on the venue’s patio, which overlooked the vast lawn past the iron and wood archway where Kaity and David were married. While Kaity wore a white Mori Lee wedding dress with a lace overlay and a thin pearl necklace, her bridesmaids continued the soft look with peach strapless dresses and chunky pearl necklaces. The reception was held inside the barn, where guests located the gold-framed table numbers positioned next to white and pink flower centerpieces on slabs of wood that were arranged by the Flowerman. The two-tier white wedding cake depicted Kaity and David’s monogram on the highest tier and had a single white chrysanthemum on the top. More than the wedding cake (and surrounding cupcakes), we loved how the desserts were displayed—positioned on top of wooden crates and vintage briefcases that rested on two wooden tables, accented with a pink “Sweet” sign. “I knew our day would work just the way it was intended to,” Kaity says. “I trusted in the bigger picture, which allowed me to be present in every moment that day.”
