A Nautical Wedding at the Vesper Boat Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Laura Lertdarapong, 28, a design services consultant, and Dan Abraham, 29, a creative director, met while Laura was working her shift at Capogiro Gelato. Dan would come in for gelato after bartending at a nearby restaurant, and one night when he walked in alone, Laura asked if he would like to go out sometime. Dan invited Laura to a concert that night, and ever since they've been together. The couple dated for nine years until Dan proposed to Laura at the top of the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine while they were on a family trip. It only made sense as they went forward with wedding planning that they would have a nautical theme. They decided to have their wedding at the Vesper Boat Club, which was usually rented out for club events and local University events. "The club was exactly what we were looking for," Laura says. "They let us choose our own vendors and they were located on the historic boathouse row on the Schuylkill River, which fit our nautical theme. We wanted to have the ceremony outdoors, so they allowed just our wedding party on the dock while the guests watched from the upper balcony." The couple picked a navy blue, white and gold palette for the wedding decor to compliment the boathouse look in addition to matching the nautical theme at large.
