A Nautical Wedding at the Abbey Resort in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin

Staying true to their Wisconsin roots was important for Alexandria Sanfelippo (24 and a CT scan technologist) and Scott Aigner (31 and an interventional radiologic technologist). They wanted a destination to relax for their wedding weekend and love being on the water, and the Abbey Resort overlooking Lake Geneva embodied the nautical theme they envisioned. Their day began with a heartfelt waterfront ceremony, where Alexandria and Scott tied a fisherman’s knot to symbolize their unity in a nautical way. After their emotional vows, a cocktail hour followed on the resort’s patio, where the in-house catering team brought out delicious hors d’oeuvres, including grilled cheese and tomato bisque shooters—because what’s a Wisconsin wedding without cheese? At the reception, guests left the newlyweds messages in a bottle to open on their first anniversary, and the DJ, Sound by Design, kept the dance floor moving all night. But that wasn’t all the entertainment.
