A Nautical Vintage Wedding at Lake Michigan in Saugatuck, Michigan

Jenelle Brooker (28 and a marketing manager) and Joseph (JJ) Brooker (27 and an operations manager) met during their college years at an Italian restaurant where Jenelle worked. JJ proposed to Jenelle at her favorite place, on a boat at sunset on Lake Michigan. Their wedding took place in Saugatuck, Michigan on a lakefront bluff. The couple wanted a vintage chic theme while incorporating nautical elements in their waterfront wedding. The groomsmen wore a nautical navy, while the bridesmaids wore neutral colors. The flowers were inspired by Jenelle’s grandparents who grew peonies while she was growing up. The boutonnieres were Jenelle’s grandmother’s favorite flower, the gardenia. In honor of JJ’s El Paso roots, the couple served Mexican-inspired cuisine at the reception with music by The Sprague Brothers. Jenelle and JJ sent their guests home with customized bottles of tequila and a pizza snack to cap off the night.
