A Nautical Summer Wedding at the Popponesset Inn in Mashpee, Massachusetts

rn Lauren Reese (29 and a high school math teacher) and Scott Reese (30 and a health and safety professional) had always dreamed of saying their “I dos” in the quaint seaside town of Mashpee, Massachusetts, where they spent time every summer at Lauren’s family's summer home. After coming across the Popponesset Inn, just one mile down the road, the pair knew it was where they had to host their early-summer nuptials. After a traditional ceremony at Parish of Christ the King, the couple whisked guests off to the elegant waterfront inn for a night of dinner and dancing. Inspired by the locale, the couple chose a nautical theme for the day with a sophisticated, modern vibe. Rope knots, anchor motifs, ship wheels and seashells were incorporated throughout the decor, with vintage wooden accents and warm candlelight adding an element of ambiance and charm. Wedding Flowers by Nichole took care of all the couple’s floral needs, bringing the Popponesset Inn to life with fresh bunches of full pink peonies and classic white hydrangeas, while the band Tuxedo Junction pumped out lively jams that kept the dance floor packed all night.
