A Nautical, Oceanside Wedding at a Beach House in Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Noricel Fulay (36 and a technical designer) and Timothy Cole (32 and an actor, designer) met at Derby, a swing dance club in Los Angeles, California where Timothy worked as a bartender. The two hit it off immediately and Noricel spent the night referring to Timothy as her boyfriend. Little did she know that 6 years later she and Timothy would be walking past the former site of Derby, now a bank. They had stopped to reminisce about the night they had met when Timothy got down on one knee and proposed, right there in front of the ATM machines! The couple had always known they would be married on a beach and chose a destination beach house setting in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. To accentuate the natural beauty and blue palette of the ocean backdrop, the bridesmaids were dressed in various shades of blue and flowers were limited to Baby's Breath for the bridesmaids bouquets and the groomsmen's boutonnieres. Noricel and Timothy wanted to play up the beachside setting and decorated the reception area in a nautical theme using sand dollars as place cards and sailors knots to hold seating numbers. The elegant Cape Cod theme was served up in a New England clam bake full of fresh seafood, a raw boat and must-have clam chowder. Timothy and Noricel's fun and quirky personalities showed through their non-traditional tower of cupcakes and dessert shots topped with starfish and lobster decorations. The bride and groom, along with their wedding party, stayed overnight in the house while guests were sent home with lobster shaped lollipops. "The after party was held inside the house. Everyone changed into their pajamas and we continued the party over frozen pizzas. It was great!" says Noricel.
