A Nautical New England Wedding at the Boston Exchange Conference Center in Boston, Massachusetts

Jessica Roy (30 and the owner and chef of Shiso Kitchen) and David Cheal (28 and a personal trainer at Equinox Boston) met at a gym in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jessica had admired him from afar for months before working up the nerve to strike up a conversation. Coincidentally, Jessica and David found out they were neighbors and immediately started bonding from there. David proposed in Paris on a walk through the city after their last dinner on their romantic getaway. They were engaged for two and a half years, which was plenty of time for them to relocate from Utah to Boston, move into their first home, and start brand new careers. Somehow, they managed to squeeze in wedding planning. Jessica and David had a traditional church ceremony at the historic Old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts with a waterfront reception at the Boston Exchange Conference Center, a property that once had a history as a fish auction house. Jessica scavenged for the perfect vintage wedding dress, ultimately finding a beautiful strapless, lace Monique Lhuillier gown that she wore with a birdcage veil. The nautical-themed reception had a color palette of navy and coral with anchors, nets, buoys, a lobster trap as a card box, and lobster-shaped cookie cutter wedding favors. The bride was involved in every aspect of the wedding, from designing the wedding logos to selecting a New England inspired tapas menu in lieu of a formal sit-down dinner. Her close friends created two wedding cakes and a selection of whoopie pies for dessert. The wedding band, The Ward Eights, played a "jazzy rat-pack-style set" and even received an encore from the wedding guests. After the wedding, Jessica and David held an after party at Tamo Lounge at the Seaport Hotel (complete with gourmet pizzas!) and a day-after brunch with refreshing mimosas.
