A Nautical Beach Wedding at Windows on the Water in Sea Bright, New Jersey

Melissa Woll's (29 and a relationship manager) brother was best friends with Nicholas Colangelo (28 and an accountant) growing up, so this couple met when they were 10 years old. "My siblings and I are very close, so we all always went out together, and one day something just clicked," Melissa says. Five years later Nick proposed with the help of their dog, Ryann. One morning Nick got up and took Ryann for a walk while Melissa was still sleeping. When she woke up she found Ryann wearing a T-shirt that said "Will you marry me?" "I started crying, and I barely heard all the nice things he was saying," Melissa says. With their hearts set on a beach wedding, Windows on the Water in Sea Bright, New Jersey, was an easy choice. "It was the most amazing venue we looked at and perfect for what we wanted," Melissa says. Given their seaside setting, a nautical theme seemed like another easy decision. They selected a vibrant color scheme of coral and mint to pop against the ocean backdrop. Another fun twist: Melissa and Nick's custom Nike sneakers. "Nick is athletic and laid-back, so he didn't want to wear dress shoes. He loves sneakers and probably has a million pairs," Melissa says. They created Nike sneakers with coral swooshes and their initials for Nick, the groomsmen and their dads to wear. "They looked really nice with the gray tuxes," Melissa says. —Meghan Overdeep
