A Natural, Rustic Wedding at Raven Glacier Lodge in Girdwood, Alaska

Courtney Drake (28 and a product manger) and John Doherty (30 and a senior growth manager) wanted to keep their wedding simple. Inspired by the natural beauty of the woodlands, mountains and glacier stream surroundings, Courtney and John kept their decor to a minimum. Raven Glacier Lodge in Girdwood, Alaska, set the scene for their nuptials because it was close to Courtney’s family’s home (so her grandmother could attend), and because it embodied the organic aesthetic they were looking for. We love that Courtney and John chose a palette of shades of blue and coral that really popped against the otherwise-neutral surroundings without being overbearing. Soft shades of blush and teal softened the bold palette and pink peonies—a gift from the couple’s aunt, who grows peonies as part of the Alaska Peony Association—added plenty of romance throughout the decor.
