A Natural, Rustic-Themed Wedding at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, California

This couple's favorite colors, orange and green, combined with details of greenery and olive branches made for a rustic, natural-looking wedding with the works. Tara Klescewski (32 and a human-resources specialist) and Cina Hazegh (31) wanted to hold their wedding at a venue suitable for their rustic-themed vision, and settled on the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, California, a community space that works toward nature preservation in the local area. The wedding took place inside the venue's clubhouse, with wooden walls, floor and vaulted ceiling interior accented with a touch of elegance from the hanging circular chandeliers and stone fireplace, captured on camera by Green Vintage Photography. Since Cina's parents were from Iran, the couple incorporated Persian traditions of the sugar ceremony and the sofreh aghd—a symbolic wedding spread made up of candles, woven cloth, large mirrors and other elements. The space was then transformed into the reception dining room, with long tables covered in white- and brown-paper tablecloths topped with white candles in large black lanterns and orange, white and green flower centerpieces, arranged by the Cutting Garden at Flora Grubb Gardens. Speaking of flowers, the bridal bouquet was our favorite detail of the day. White anemones and orange ranunculus mixed with banana leaves, eucalyptus and olive branches were held together with a white linen wrap, and embodied the natural details the couple worked to incorporate into their wedding day. "We had cultural elements present and we were also working in a space with a strong aesthetic personality," Tara says. "Everyone did such a beautiful job of creating the different elements of the decor in a way that really gelled and looked amazing."
