A Natural Mountain Wedding at the Horse Stables in Squaw Valley, California
Sara Dack (28, in software development) and Tal Fletcher Jr. (39, a small business owner) met while they were skiing with mutual friends, and at the end of the day exchanged numbers to go skiing sometime again. Their first date alone was when Tal took Sara for a helicopter ride around Lake Tahoe, and their relationship continued to grow from there. One weekend, Tal and Sara went helicopter skiing in Arkansas where Tal used to work before the couple met. “On the very first run, Tal went first and radioed up to our guide to send me down next,” says Sara. “When I finally got to the bottom I could barely ski all the way to Tal, my legs were so tired. He made me take one more turn right below him, and got on one knee and pulled out a ring. It was quite the sensory overload!” The happily engaged couple got married at the old horse stables in Squaw Valley, California. With enough space to fit 230 guests and a rustic, natural décor of the landscape provided Sara and Tal with the perfect wedding venue. I think the natural setting around us fit us perfectly, being outdoors on our favorite day of the year (summer solstice) in the gorgeous surroundings of the valley where we met,” says Sara. “It could not have been more perfect.”
