A Natural, Intimate Destination Wedding at Olowalu Plantation House in Maui, Hawaii
The surrounding tropical trees and nearby waterfront seen outside on the trimmed lawn at Olowalu Plantation House in Maui, Hawaii, creates a calming ambience for an intimate occasion. "We stumbled across Olowalu Plantation House and instantly fell in love with the house's old-school charm, the gorgeously manicured yard and the rugged beach—it ended up being perfect," Jocelyn Fink (25 and a lawyer) says of her marriage to Chris Harris (33 and a lawyer). With an elopement in mind even before getting engaged, Jocelyn and Chris had their hearts set on traveling to Hawaii alone for their wedding, which Trish Barker Photography captured beautifully. Jocelyn wore a simple floor-length ivory dress that was accented with a crystal belt, while Chris wore a casual light blue Hugo Boss blazer with a white shirt and khaki pants—both perfect for the informal tone they had envisioned. Hawaiian Island Wedding Planners helped with the ceremony setup, which took place outside on the green grass, where Jocelyn and Chris stood at the wedding archway draped in white linens with a welcoming wooden sign that read "Happily Ever After Starts Here." With no particular palette in mind, Jocelyn held a bouquet arrangement of white and peach roses and calla lilies accented with dusty miller that added a pop of color among the landscape. What really caught our attention was Jocelyn's dazzling beaded headband, which added some glam to her simple white wedding attire. "We didn't treat the elopement as the be-all-end-all," Jocelyn says. "We slept in that morning, had lunch, I got my hair and makeup done, and then we went to the ceremony together. It was truly the most fun and stress-free day we have ever had."
