A Natural Fall Wedding at Abenakee Club in Biddeford Pool, Maine

Kate Levy (26 and a marketing manager) and Evan Tingle (27 and an astrophysicist) met at Wesleyan University and bonded through the sailing team -- or as Kate says, floating on the Connecticut River. They got married at Abenakee Club in Biddeford Pool, Maine, a small coastal community that has been a part of Kate’s family for more than 50 years. “Over the six years before we got engaged, Evan spent a lot of time in the Biddeford Pool community and came to love it as much as Kate’s family does,” says the couple. The fall foliage was in full force in October and served as the backdrop for the outdoor wedding. They incorporated autumnal colors of reds, oranges and yellows in their flowers and decor, including a natural birchwood huppah as the centerpiece of their traditional Jewish ceremony. The reception took place in a large tent with a full dance floor in the center, and included a seasonal dinner and dancing to a live band. “Everyone was up and dancing as soon as the band started and kept dancing until the last song,” says Kate. “I think how many people danced and for how long really says a lot about our friends and family.”
