Devin Duncan and RJ Powell live in Brooklyn, but they traveled to their home state of Texas for a boho wedding at Mae's Ridge. "The venue is in the middle of the Texas Hill Country, has the most amazing views and looks like it came straight out of a magazine," Devin says. "We ended up drawing inspiration from all the places we love, combining the sophistication of New York City with the rustic charm of Texas and a quirky '70s vibe that we both know and love from our time spent in Austin." The ceremony took place outdoors in front of a square wire wedding arch and picturesque Texas views. Flower arrangements in shades of pink, orange and white popped against the natural backdrop. "I wanted the florals to look as if someone went into the field in the Hill Country, dropped a bunch of beautiful flowers on the grass, and picked them up to find them entangled with a ton of prairie grass and wildflowers," Devin says. The couple also added textured rugs to the ceremony space for a cozy, homey feeling. For the reception, everyone headed inside the white-walled Mae's Ridge. The space was decorated with neutral-colored tables and chairs, round chandeliers and a greenery wall with a neon sign. "We had personal photos printed and framed for each table to highlight our favorite things to do together, like baseball games in different cities and trips to the beach," Devin says. "We served breakfast tacos at the end of the night because that's both our favorite food." Other personal touches included signature cocktails (a cucumber jalapeño margarita for Devin and a Moscow mule for RJ) and a tiered fondant wedding cake with pink-toned flowers. Devin stunned in a structured white dress and cathedral-length veil. "After the ceremony, I traded my heels and veil for brown cowboy boots and a denim jacket that said 'Here Comes The Bride,' which I wore for the reception," she says. RJ wore a slim-fit muted blue suit.
