A Natural, DIY Wedding at Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Nothing says Louisiana like getting married in the middle of nature. Anne Laughlin (36 and a recruiter) and Rick Swanson (48 and a teacher) turned the love of the outdoors into the inspiration for their wedding, including the venue in Martinville, Louisiana. “We picked Lake Fausse Pointe State Park because we love Louisiana and nature. The park showcases both beautifully,” Anne says. She even started her processional with a boat ride! After a waterfront ceremony on the dock, everyone moved to a personalized reception at Pat's Fisherman Wharf Restaurant, a Cajun dance hall in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Rick made almost all the decor, including the “Joy” photo collage, chalkboard signs and mason jar centerpieces. But what made things exceptionally sweet were the contributions from their guests. "They helped with the food service, decorations and flower arrangements, emceed the reception, did my hair and makeup, married us, and more," Anne says.
