This wedding makes us nostalgic for summer camp. Courtney Perkins (32 and in user-experience design) and Mark Scofield (31 and a motion graphics designer) got married at Rocky River Ranch in Wimberley, Texas, a camp located on the banks of the Blanco River that gave the couple and their guests a relaxing retreat for their entire celebration. “Having our wedding at a camp allowed us to invite all our family and friends to stay the weekend with us,” Courtney says. The rustic, outdoor camp setting was perfect for this couple’s natural wedding theme: During their engagement, Courtney and Mark took a long road trip visiting national parks and the American Northwest. They even planned most of their wedding, together with Beau Tied Events, from the road in an Airstream trailer. “We got much of our wedding inspiration from the natural beauty we saw and our experiences on the trip,” the bride says. Rosehip Flora brought the couple’s vision to life with ferns, moss and wood incorporated into their centerpieces and colorful floral arrangements, which captured this couple’s organic style. Since both Courtney and Mark are designers, much of their decor was also DIY, including all their stationery and signage, embroidered camp-inspired badges, care packages for their guests, program fans, wooden escort cards and even homemade beer. “We wanted the wedding and the whole weekend to represent us as a couple while making sure everyone was able to have a great time, relax and catch up with one another,” Courtney says. Mark designed the wedding invitations, including a custom, camp-inspired "M & C" logo, with green and blue designs, inspired by the natural style of Rocky River Ranch.

Courtney and Mark had their wedding at a beautiful summer camp in Wimberley, Texas, called Rocky River Ranch. “Having our wedding at a camp allowed us to invite all our family and friends to stay the weekend with us,” Courtney says.
The wedding party matched the relaxed, natural style of Rocky River Ranch, and dressed to be comfortable outdoors. The bridesmaids selected their own mint dresses, and the groomsmen wore light gray vests and pants.

The couple created much of their decor themselves to put as much of their styles and personalities into their wedding. Mark designed the stationery—including program fans for the outdoor ceremony—with a cute custom M + C logo reminiscent of summer camp.
The couple hosted their reception dinner outdoors at dusk under bistro lights. For decor, the couple selected decor and flowers in greens, including moss, ferns and greenery, with pops of blue and hints of bright colors inspired by their road trip.
One of the bride’s cousins created the bride-and-groom pennant flag signage on the back of the couple’s reception chairs. Ranunculus with sprigs of natural ferns sprouted around the signs to add to the organic atmosphere.

Courtney and Mark sent their guests home with jalapeno-infused tequila with the recipe for Jalapeno Margaritas for a taste of Texas. The local tasting also included hot pickled carrot relish.
