A Natural, Bohemian Wedding in Prior Lake, Minnesota

Danyelle Ludwig and Tristan Pollock’s summer wedding was a perfect representation of their free-spirited souls, with its bohemian vibe and artistic appeal. Their experiences at the legendary Burning Man festival inspired many of the celebration’s details, creating an unforgettable fete.

“We wrote and rewrote the entire ceremony ourselves, designed the layout of the space from scratch and made sure that all of our decisions were made with intention,” Danyelle says.

Both Minnesota natives, highlighting the outdoors was essential for Danyelle and Tristan. To pay tribute to the beauty of the natural landscape, the pair hosted both the ceremony and reception outdoors. Fresh bundles of eucalyptus and sage watercolor paper goods further played up the evening’s organic feel. Colorful uplighting, tiki torches and glowing orbs lit the paths throughout the woods after the sun set.

Interactive art experiences were incorporated throughout, including a spinning egg ride, a scale cardboard cutout of Danyelle and Tristan on their bachelorette and bachelor parties, a two-headed deer sculpture, life-size rocking horses and a hanging yarn installation that the pair made themselves using hundreds of yards of yarn.

“Our favorite parts of the wedding were the ones that were personal to us,” Danyelle says. “We featured a lot of elements throughout the night that we’ve enjoyed through our 11 years together: hookah, bonfires, tarot card readings, henna tattoos, interactive fire spinning, a mini doughnut station, a Viking horn announcing dinner, lit up paths throughout the woods leading you to hidden surprises and even a late-night pizza delivery from our favorite hometown restaurant.”
