A Natural, Bohemian Wedding at JM Cellars in Woodinville, Washington
Kira Scrogran (29 and in merchandising) and Michael Scrogran (30 and in sales) met while they were members of a traveling club volleyball team at the University of Colorado. While they were at a dance event called the Flip Flop Ball, Michael pulled Kira aside and asked her to be his girlfriend. One weekend, the couple took a six-hour train ride from Denver to travel to Glenwood Springs. Kira loved trains and was so excited about the trip that she wasn’t even suspicious of Michael booking a sleeper car when they weren’t staying overnight. As they were going through several tunnels on the train, going from dark to light again, Michael proposed down on one knee once they went through the last tunnel. Kira’s ring had a large diamond in the middle with two diamonds on either side, which were his grandmother’s rings. The couple got married at JM Cellars in Woodinville, Washington with a small tasting room and outdoor venue space surrounded by the beautiful woods. Kira chose an ivory wedding dress with a bohemian flair that was designed by Anna Campbell, while Michael wore a gray tuxedo from Vera Wang. Since the couple had their wedding mostly in the woodlands, the couple used minimal decorations to emphasize on the natural surrounding beauty. The classic, light-hearted wedding occasion was an accurate reflection of Kira and Michael, who were big kids at heart. “We didn't want anyone to feel confined to a table so there was no seating chart, the food was gourmet pizza, the cake was covered in confetti, and we had S’mores, bean bag toss and a kids table with games,” says Kira.
