A Natural Beach Wedding at a Private Residence in Carova, North Carolina

rn Between the wildflower-accented tablescapes, succulent favors and starfish-topped desserts, Karen Reinhard (29 and a speech language pathologist) and Wynn Malone (31 and in IT) put a natural twist on their beach celebration. Wild horses galloped along the water as they started their day at Wynn’s mother’s home in Carova, North Carolina. “We love the beautiful simplicity of the beaches in the Outer Banks and have such wonderful memories on the North Carolina coast,” Karen says. On their wedding day, all-white arrangements of daisies and alstroemerias highlighted the path from the house down to the beach as 70 guests took their seats in rows of gold chiavari chairs. Taking on their natural color scheme, Wynn met Karen at the ceremony in a neutral linen suit while she wore a sweet strapless white wedding dress with a lace accent. Once they exchanged vows, all went back to the house for a custom cocktail hour on the deck. “Our caterer, Chili Peppers, provided an amazing Key lime mixer that allowed guests to make their own signature drink,” Karen says. After a few drinks, all chose their seats among family-style tables lined with driftwood, rustic lanterns and lush all-white flowers in bulb vases. Burlap and navy-striped runners lined the tables for a nautical touch. Our favorite detail? The wedding favors! After a slice from their three seashell-topped single-tier wedding cakes from Just Desserts, each guest spent a few hours on the dance floor and picked up a potted succulent favor. Of course, the fun didn’t end there. That night, Karen and Wynn finished the party with a sparkler exit. Lori Douglas Photography captured every moment, below.
